Developing a new domestic airline carrier booking application for the new Western Sydney Airport
Flight Cycle Airways is an all-new mobile booking application for the currently under-construction Western Sydney Airport. It is designed and proposed as a sophisticated booking and ticketing system for a mobile device application. With conducted in-depth analysis, research, design, prototyping, and testing specifically tailored to meet the needs of this airline carrier within the mobile application system. It is aimed towards those who are looking to satisfy their needs with bulk booking within a large group, including business professionals, first-time flyers, and travel agents.

OVERVIEW
The Western Sydney Airport (located at Badgerys Creek) is a currently under-construction airport that is set to open in 2026, it is underway and on track with its set operations. This transformational infrastructure project is to generate economic activity, provide employment opportunities closer to home for people in the Western Sydney region and meet Sydney’s growing aviation needs
CHALLENGE
The airport needs to goal to develop a new domestic airline carrier to run out of Western Sydney Airport. It will be designed and proposed in a sophisticated booking/ ticketing system for a mobile application.

COMPETITOR RESEARCH
Analysing the major airline carrier competitors within the industry, was a complex process. Breaking down each screen to its detail on both its useful features worth taking note of for the new Western Sydney Airport airline carrier booking system. But most importantly what are the painful features worth avoiding that would most the user’s journey through the product more difficult than it already is. The common trends found within analysing these 3 airline carriers were:
The need to have an easy-to-read typeface for users to see on a small screen
Less clutter and most open space so users don’t oversea and don’t miss importing details when booking
They lack options or are difficult to book for a large group of people all at once
Very few options to pre-book transportation and/or a hotel room for your trip
Confusion where you are on the journey of booking tickets and how far do you have left to go
USER PERSONA
Meet Simona Dowell who is a professional athlete who needs to bulk book for her team and organize to pre-book transportation and hotel rooms. With a professional career, she finds it complex to book for a large group as it may take extra time and overseas importing details. She needs an easy-to-use application that is customizable for large group bookings, easy to read and track and can pre-book ahead of time for any extra transport or hotel services for good and affordable deals.
WIREFRAMING AND PROTOTYPING
Using the already existing branding elements from Flight Cycle Airways, these assets were implemented straight onto its digital prototype design. Before proceeding with designing each screen and wireframing them, there had to be a clear idea of what each wireframe screen would look like and how it would function. Sketching up these screens made the digital UI design process a lot easier with a sense of direction from its research and competitive analysis.
Branding & Identity
The all-new airline carrier, Flight Cycle Airways, excels in capturing the simplicity of its new mobile application with its modern, clean, and monochromatic design. Creating a whole new modern branding identity through the era of advanced technological advances with a seamless and sleek design that is easy on the eye for consumers to use. The new Flight Cycle Airways highlights an infinity symbol, relating to how airline flights go through different routes and journeys all around the world continuously to keep the world going to get consumers to where they need
to be.
